Updated: Mar 12, 2022

We are pleased to announce the launch of our inaugural BTx (Business Transformation) series event! The inaugural BTx event was graced by Dr Sumitra Nair, Vice President at MDEC, who delivered her keynote speech to a crowd of more than 100 students of Asia Pacific University and close to 50 corporates.

From L to R: Joon Teoh (CEO of Agos Asia), Prof. Ron Edwards (Vice Chancellor of Asia Pacific University), Wong Eng Teng (Chief Officer, Ecosystems Implementation of Prudential Services Asia), Yasmin Mohd Ramzi (Head, GBS Service Delivery of Tenaga Nasional Bhd), Marina Bellini (Director, Digital and Information of British American Tobacco)

The BTx series was launched in a bid to bring university students and corporates closer, allowing students to mingle and network with corporates.

The main highlight of the event was the panel discussion about "Digital Transformation and Innovation in Leading Global Organisations impact, future trends and fit for future talent requirements". Among the panellists were Marina Bellini (Director, Digital and Information of British American Tobacco), Yasmin Mohd Ramzi (Head, GBS Service Delivery of Tenaga Nasional Bhd) and Wong Eng Teng (Chief Officer, Ecosystems Implementation of Prudential Services Asia). The panel session was moderated by Joon Teoh, CEO of Agos Asia.

We hope for more to come as we continue to work hard to improve corporate and university collaborations, building a close-knit ecosystem to encourage more collaborations among each other. Students are given easier access towards corporates, gaining valuable insights and knowledge about what their future employers seek in them. On the other hand, corporates are able to build strong talent pipelines, ensuring that their talent pool is deep and fresh graduates are better equipped once they join the workforce.

We would like to thank Asia Pacific University for their collaboration, Dr Sumitra Nair and all panelists for their great insights shared during the session!
